iLab Conference Schedule, October 2011


iLab is excited to announce our conference schedule for Fall 2011.   Focused mainly on research administration and core facility management, these conferences will help us better understand the needs of the industry professionals that we serve.  In turn, we hope to improve our product and provide an opportunity for institutions to learn more about the advantages and savings that iLab can offer.  This fall, we will be attending the following conferences. Great Lakes International Imaging and Flow Cytometry Association:  GLIIFCA’s conference seeks to encourage information sharing and promote research in flow and imaging cytometry.  The conference is focused on bringing in researchers and other industry professionals from across the Great Lakes region.  iLab’s VP of Business Development, Heather Lorenz, will be speaking on the topic of “Business Tools to Start and Run a Core Facility.

Association of Independent Research Institutes:  The mission of AIRI’s conference is to foster communication between non-profit research institutions and to promote the adoption of best practices for effective resource management.  The association also seeks to ensure that non-profit research institutions have the same access to support and funding as traditional, for-profit, institutions.

Association of American Cancer Institutes and Cancer Center Administrators Forum: This conference, hosted jointly by AACI and CCAF, is designed to attract cancer center administrators and directors with industry and research leaders, government health agencies, and advocacy groups.  The conference is unique in bringing together leaders across the industry spectrum to discuss the leading issues in cancer research.   The theme of this year’s meeting is, “The Power of Partnerships.”

FlowTex:  The FlowTex conference is dedicated to flow cytometry cores in Texas. Included in the conference will be workshops, technical discussions, seminars, lectures, and networking opportunities for the flow cytometry community.  iLab’s VP of Business Development, Heather Lorenz, will be speaking on the topic of “Business Tools to Start and Run a Core Facility.”

West Coast Association of Shared Resource Directors:  The WCASRD conference is designed to encourage networking between researchers and core laboratories on the West Coast.  In addition, the conference is seeking to create a regional platform for shared technology, administration, and research practices.  WCASRD is a Chapter of the Association of Bimolecular Resource Facilities.

Midwest Association of Core Directors:  The MWACD conference was created to build relationships between core facility directors.  By encouraging networking and information sharing, MWACD hopes to help cores directors prepare to face the challenges of operating a shared resource facility.  MWACD is a Chapter of the Association of Bimolecular Resource Facilities.
