iLab Announces New Homepage, December 2011

New Homepage Launch

iLab Solutions released a  new homepage this week offering a number of upgrades designed to improve customer experience and productivity.  The improvements include Quick Links, an ’alerts’ tab, and an improved Help page.  The new homepage can be accessed by clicking on the ‘home’ link on the left hand side of the page when logged into iLab.

Quick Links provides users with a dashboard for streamlining the iLab experience.  Using Quick Links, users can instantly view and access commonly used cores, recently requested items, or current resource reservations. (Figure 1)

The new ‘alerts’ tab is now featured on the homepage.  Users are immediately alerted to new activity related to their requests when they log in and can instantly approve or decline these items.  If a user utilizes iLab for lab supply ordering and management, supplies and materials recently received in the lab will also appear in the ‘alerts’ tab. (Figure 2)

The ‘help’ tab provides useful information about whichever page the user is currently viewing.  To ensure a smooth transition to the new homepage and the features offered here, the ‘help’ tab should be used to effectively navigate around this page. (Figure 3)
