iLab Solutions today announced the opening of its 4th Annual Core Facility Management Benchmarking Study. The purpose of this study is to provide research administration an understanding of best practices and trends in core facility growth and utilization.
“The iLab mission is to support the scientific research community,” commented Heather Lorenz, iLab’s VP, Business Development. “We accomplish this not only through customer collaboration in developing innovative and effective solutions but also by providing a commentary of industry best practices.” From a single core facility to research institutions with multiple shared resources, the iLab Annual Core Facility Benchmarking Study allows organizations to identify gaps in their operations process. Continued Lorenz, “This information is invaluable in a time of limited funding and increasing research demands.”
Previous studies represented more than 40 different core types from over 75 institutions from North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Included on the list are core facilities, recharge centers, and shared resources from leading universities, research hospitals, independent institutes, and government labs. Past studies revealed a number of strong patterns in core operations and have been referenced at core facility management conferences, on research industry listservs, and in biomedical journals.
iLab offers the summary of results free of charge on the iLab website. The fourth annual Benchmarking Study results will be available in the summer of 2014.
To participate in this year’s study, all core facility, recharge center and shared resource managers and directors are asked to go to the link below.
